So if any of you follow me on FB or Twitter, you read that there was drama at my house regarding the Christmas tree. Why you ask? Because Boogie is DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He calls me yesterday and asks me whether or not I was serious about getting a Christmas tree. That has to be the dumbest question EVER! Of course I was serious. He then continues to say that getting a Christmas tree with Sofia being so little would be a hazard and that we needed to rethink this.
FIRST OF ALL - he's crazy. Second of all, Sofia is going to have to learn NOT to play with Christmas trees and that's it. Does he really think that we need to NOT have a tree on the off chance that she may pull off an ornament? I feel that if we don't have a Christmas tree, she won't get used to it and won't know that she's NOT supposed to play with it. RIGHT? AND what happens when she goes to someone else's house and THEY have a tree? Are they supposed to take it down if Sofia comes over? I mean seriously! What is his deal?
So last night I went and bought a new tree stand and brand new lights! He keeps saying "well we can go this weekend". We were supposed to get it on Tuesday. I'm not dumb. I know that he's trying to stall. BUT I don't need him to come with me to get a Christmas tree. There are plenty of strong men that work at those places that will be more than happy to load that bad boy up for me. :)
I can't wait to post pictures of our tree!!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!!!!

Off or on?
I had a conversation with Abby today that went a little something like this...
Blanca: I went to my friend's house and I didn't want to go inside so I didn't get off the car.
Abby: Wait, what?
Blanca: I didn't get off the car.
Abby: Why were you on it?
Blanca: Huh?
Abby: Do you mean you got OUT of the car?
Blanca: Yes, I got off the car because I was in the car, DUH!
Abby: So then you mean you got OUT of the car?
Blanca: That's what I said.
So my question is, do you say "get off the car" or "get out of the car". I never paid attention to either one but "get out of the car" makes sense. Anyway, just wondering. :)

December 1?
Are you sure it's December 1? Wasn't January 1 like the other day?
Anywho...the calendar says it's December 1 so I guess they are right! And what a perfect December day it is here in Houston. It was freezing this morning. There was even ice on the windows. LOVE IT!
To celebrate the beginning of December and the countdown to Christmas (eeek!), we are going to go and buy our Christmas tree tonight! This used to be my favorite thing to do as a kid. My mother was very picky on the tree we bought and we usually had to visit 3 or 4 places to find just the right one. AND I will be the same. I hope Home Depot has THE one.
My favorite part is taking down the boxes from the attic and taking out all of the ornaments. It brings back soooo many fun memories. I sometimes think I want to do a coordinated tree with same color ornaments and bows, but my OLD ornaments make that impossible. Sooooo old school tree it is!
I am going to be interested to see how Sofia is going to react to it. She's at that age where a lighted tree means "oooh let me touch it!" I see a lot of slapped hands in her future!! :)
I will post pictures of the final product!

Turkey day is near!
Can you believe in two days it will officially be Thanksgiving?? Geez, this year flew by. Sofia is almost 14 months old!! Good lord, pretty soon she will be 15 and driving. But let's leave that for another post.
Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the year. I get to see all of my family (crossing fingers) and it revolves around eating!!! My two favorite things. :) Every year since I can remember, Thanksgiving has been held at my aunt Lydia's house. We all get together, eat, laugh and eat some more. I sometimes make a dish but this year I am off the hook! I only have to bring plates, forks and drinks -- SCORE!!! I can totally rock that one out.
BUT, I'm not totally off for this great holiday. I am hosting dinner for Boogie's family. Aint' I sweet? I am making the turkey, opening a few cans of veggies :) and making a sugar-free dessert. I know that sounds foreign coming from me, but Boogie's mom is a diabetic and it wouldn't be fair if we were all eating yummy desserts in front of her. I hope the pie comes out ok -- I'll let you know if she eats it or throws it in my face!
I will post afterwards and pictures of the day! Last year Sofia was so small and I actually FORGOT to take pictures!!! What a loser. But this year, I will tell Cassie to. LOL!
Happy Thanksgiving people!!!!!!

Man I have neglected my blog for way too long! It's almost thanksgiving and December is around the corner!!!! How the hell did that happen?
Well I was ACTUALLY busy at work in the month of November so that explains my absence. But now that it is sort of slow here, I will do my best to catch up!

Happy November People!!!
Can you believe it's already November 1? Where the heck did the year go?? I swear I just turned 30 and now I'm about to be 31!!! Man, I'm old.
Well I guess we can start counting down to Thanksgiving! Which , by the way, is my favorite holiday of the year...surprise, surprise, it revolves around eating and watching football!
And it also means that I can start Christmas shopping!! And let's not forget about BLACK FRIDAY!! The only day out of the year that it's ok to start a fight in Walmart over a $5 sweater!! :)
Let's gear up for the crazy holidays!! BRING IT ON!!

Happy Halloween!!
Halloween came and went but it was a good one. Last year Sofia was just a wee 3 weeks old and this year she was able to walk and ask for candy! It's crazy how a year changes things. :)
Anyway, we went trick-or-treating in Conroe. Yes, THAT Conroe. Why so far you ask? We always celebrate Halloween with our good friends The Riveras. They also happen to be Sofia's god-parents and we have baptized two of their kids. :) So I guess you can say we are TIGHT! :)
Sofia was a beautiful fairy for Halloween. At one of my baby showers, she was given wings AND a tutu and I never knew when she would EVER wear it but alas, a time came. Look how cute she looked!!!
Miss Betty Rodriguez KNEW she NEEDED these two things in her closet and boy was she right!!! I thought for sure Sofia was going to be pissed off that she had to wear the wings and the tutu but she was a perfect lady and fairy. She never once tried to take them off. She is a natural prissy princess. LORD HELP ME!
Sofia LOVED being able to walk in the middle of the street with all the other million and two kids that were out last night. She never got scared of all the scary faces and people trying to scare her. She would just look at them and keep walking. She's from the hood...she's used to scary people. :)
Here are some more pictures from the evening. I can't wait for next year!!!!!!!!
She was trying to steal the pumpkins. I told you she was from the HOOD! :)
Sofia and her god-sister Priscilla.
Happy Fairy!
Sofia and her
She was too cute walking in this outfit!!
I hope you had a great Halloween as well!!!! I can't wait to eat all of the candy. :)
