Vacation RULES!!!

If you are my friend on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, you are very aware that my lazy ass has been on vacation for 2 weeks now! :)  Are you jealous?  Well, my friend, you should be!!

Everyone has asked me if Leti was also on vacation. To those people I responded with a big HELL NO!  :)  For one, Leti can't afford not to work for 3 weeks and I can't afford not to get some much needed sleep.  So...I help her out, she helps me out.  It's a perfect marriage. The first day of my vacation, I slept until 2pm!!!!!  Seriously. I hadn't done that in ages! It felt so nice to be able to do so.  I love my Leti!!!!

I got to do some much needed Christmas shopping as well.  It's not fun shopping with a 1 year old, so again, this is how Leti comes in handy.   And I honestly can't remember what else I did but I do know that it was SUPER relaxing and it still is.

This week I had lunch with my favorite DR, I'm going to the movies with my brother-in-laws AND I'm going to hang out with Michele (my BFF!) AND it's New Year's Eve on Friday so there's even more fun to bed had!!  I swear....I need to win the lottery because I could totally get used to this.  I'm going to feel like a brand new employee next Monday!!!! I hope I remember the code to get in the door.

So now that you are REALLY jealous, I will stop.  :)  I am going to do this EVERY year!! It's the bestest EVER!!!!!!

My favorite things!

My dear friend Michelle Arnold blogged the other day about her 10 favorite things -- and of course she stole it from Oprah! :)  She asked that other bloggies to do the same and since she scares me a little, I listened!  You should do the same!  These are in no particular order...

Well this IS my all-time favorite thing. GOLDEN GIRLS!!!!  I know I watch this too much (every day in fact) but I promise you this show is hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And I am a definite creature of habit so this is my comfort.  And yes, I do own all 7 seasons. :)

Mini reese's peanut butter cups.  Why do they taste better than the normal sized ones?  Well who cares but they are soooo good!

Chocolate covered almonds.  I seriously could eat these all day long.  They are DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!  I love the fundraiser one.  The World's Best Chocolate or whatever.  I am always on the lookout for those kids! :)

My Blackberry Tour.  I know, a phone on my favorite things list?  Have you seen that commercial where the people are on their phones and they are falling everywhere, running into people, running OVER people, etc?  THAT IS SO ME! I know, I shouldn't be but I can't help it.  Everyone that knows me know that LOVE to informed ie, super duper nosey. And my phone allows me that liberty. Facebook, twitter,  emails, text messages, messengers all keep me in the loop and that's how I like it. :) Don't judge me.

DKNY Be Delicious.  This is my all-time favorite perfume. I get soooooooo many compliments when I wear it.  Someone told me I smelled so good they got hungry. I don't know if that was creepy or not but I took it. Hey, a compliment is a compliment. Beggars can't be choosy!!

Football.  Not soccer, not college, but the NFL!  I am a lover of sports, some more than others. But I looooove watching NFL football.  I haven't always been an avid fan but in the past few years, my love for it is growing.  I don't know all 2342523432423 rules and penalties and why they do some of the things they do. BUT I DO LOVE THIS GAME!   I love the toughness of the game, I love that it's a contact sport and I love that these fools make millions of dollars to PLAY A GAME!  You gotta love America!!!!!!   AND God loves me and now Marcus Wilkins works with me and he used to play in the NFL! So I have learned lots more about what really goes on when they aren't on the field.  And if you read earlier, you know how I loved to be informed!!!!!!!!!!  THANK YOU GOD! :)

Boxing.  Geez, I sure do like violent things. :)   Like football, I wasn't always a big fan.  Growing up I would watch the Oscar de la Hoya fights but never anyone else's.  When I met Boogie, I quickly found out that he was a REAL boxing fan and loved to watch all fights.  So in the last 12 years I have seen lots of boxing and not just the PPV ones.  And I have to admit, I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!!!!!!!  Oscar de la Hoya made it easy for me at first because the man is HOT!  But even after he left the sport, I love it just the same.

L'Occitane's Almond Oil.  I know I have blogged about this before, but this bears repeating. This stuff is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It smells wonderful and it makes your skin super soft. It is the only thing that I will shave my legs with. TRY IT!!

Dr. Pepper.  I think I love this more than Boogie.  :) JUST KIDDING!!  But I do love this drink.  This has to have crack in it.  I swear my cravings for this stuff gets pretty bad.  And I promise you that Dr. Pepper makes my food taste better.  And for all of you DIET Dr. Pepper drinkers out there...it does NOT taste just like the real stuff.  I think ya'll are crack!  And if you were wondering, the best way to drink a DP, is from a can after it's been iced down for a few hours. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

And finally, pizza.  I know, there is way too much food on here but I can't help it.  I looooooooooove me some good pizza. I think my favorite pizza is from Fuzzy's.  The original location on Antoine is the best.  If you haven't been, GO NOW!  And I am a boring eater so I only like pepperoni on my pizza. I hate when people try to add veggies to it. GIVE ME PIZZA DAMMIT!  And the cheese has to be nice and melted and a little bit greasy.  I know you will find this hard to believe, but too much grease is gross on a pizza.

I have a million more things that I love. Maybe I will have a part 2... :)  Thanks for reading!

Christmas Tree Debacle of 2010!

So if any of you follow me on FB or Twitter, you read that there was drama at my house regarding the Christmas tree.  Why you ask? Because Boogie is DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He calls me yesterday and asks me whether or not I was serious about getting a Christmas tree.  That has to be the dumbest question EVER! Of course I was serious.  He then continues to say that getting a Christmas tree with Sofia being so little would be a hazard and that we needed to rethink this.

FIRST OF ALL - he's crazy.  Second of all, Sofia is going to have to learn NOT to play with Christmas trees and that's it.  Does he really think that we need to NOT have a tree on the off chance that she may pull off an ornament?  I feel that if we don't have a Christmas tree, she won't get used to it and won't know that she's NOT supposed to play with it.  RIGHT?  AND what happens when she goes to someone else's house and THEY have a tree?  Are they supposed to take it down if Sofia comes over?  I mean seriously! What is his deal?

So last night I went and bought a new tree stand and brand new lights!  He keeps saying "well we can go this weekend".  We were supposed to get it on Tuesday. I'm not dumb. I know that he's trying to stall.  BUT I don't need him to come with me to get a Christmas tree. There are plenty of strong men that work at those places that will be more than happy to load that bad boy up for me. :)

I can't wait to post pictures of our tree!!!  I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!!!!

To be continued....

Off or on?

I had a conversation with Abby today that went a little something like this...

Blanca: I went to my friend's house and I didn't want to go inside so I didn't get off the car.
Abby: Wait, what?
Blanca: I didn't get off the car.
Abby: Why were you on it?
Blanca: Huh?
Abby: Do you mean you got OUT of the car?
Blanca: Yes, I got off the car because I was in the car, DUH!
Abby: So then you mean you got OUT of the car?
Blanca: That's what I said.

So my question is, do you say "get off the car" or "get out of the car". I never paid attention to either one but "get out of the car" makes sense.  Anyway, just wondering. :)

December 1?

Are you sure it's December 1?  Wasn't January 1 like the other day?

Anywho...the calendar says it's December 1 so I guess they are right!  And what a perfect December day it is here in Houston. It was freezing this morning.  There was even ice on the windows. LOVE IT!

To celebrate the beginning of December and the countdown to Christmas (eeek!), we are going to go and buy our Christmas tree tonight!  This used to be my favorite thing to do as a kid.  My mother was very picky on the tree we bought and we usually had to visit 3 or 4 places to find just the right one. AND I will be the same.  I hope Home Depot has THE one.

My favorite part is taking down the boxes from the attic and taking out all of the ornaments.  It brings back soooo many fun memories.  I sometimes think I want to do a coordinated tree with same color ornaments and bows, but my OLD ornaments make that impossible. Sooooo old school tree it is!

I am going to be interested to see how Sofia is going to react to it. She's at that age where a lighted tree means "oooh let me touch it!"  I see a lot of slapped hands in her future!! :)

I will post pictures of the final product!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER!!!!!
