I survived -- BARELY!!

Sorry for the late blog post but in case you were wondering, I survived Sofia's birthday bash!!!!  It was a great party and I am so happy that so many of our family and friends came out to celebrate with us.

Of course the party had its share of DRAMA but hello, what party doesn't???!!?  Drama #1 -- the park didn't let me have the moonwalk I ordered. HOW RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Something about reservation, blah blah blah.  I thought about hooking it up anyway, but I was good.  Even though we didn't have a moonwalk, the kids still enjoyed the face painters and balloon twisters.  Oh, and let's not forget about the popcorn machine!!!  The popcorn tasted like Target's. YUMMO!!!!

Drama #2 - Sofia's outfit.  Daddy didn't like the outfit I picked.  Take a look and let me know what you think....

DOESN'T SHE LOOK PRECIOUS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?   The reason he said she "couldn't" wear this outfit was because "little girs shouldn't wear black".  IS HE STUPID?  The answer is "yes, he is".  Anyway, I of course didn't listen to him and put it on her anyway.  And I'm so glad I did.  She looked sooooo freaking cute.  Look at those ballet flats. I love Baby Gap!!!!  They weren't very comfy for her, but I told her "fashion before comfort".  She needs to learn EARLY!!

I counted and there were 96 people that showed up.  Crazy right? I told you I was going to have LOTS O' MEXICANS!  I did have some white people in the mix, but not a lot.  :)

I also made centerpieces.  What do you think? I stole the idea from some website.

All-in-all, it was a fabulous day!  Sofia was surrounded by lots of wonderful people!!  I know she won't remember but that's why she has her own personal photographer, JORGE! He does such a great job. Thank you Jorge!  Here are a few of my favorite shots of the day.

I still can't believe she's 1.  Look at the difference!!!

Crazy right?  She doesn't even look the SAME!  Well this has been a great year for me.  Mommyhood is so much fun and so rewarding.  I know, I sound like a hallmark card, so I will shut up.  :)

I love you Sofia Esperanza Ramirez!

24 HOURS!!!

OMG in 24 hours, I am going to be knee-deep in hell party planning!!  I know someone tried to talk me out of having such a BIG party...but did I listen? OF COURSE NOT!! :) What fun would that be?

So again, tomorrow is the party and Sofia still doesn't have a DEFINITE outfit. I bought the CUTEST one last night and dumb Daddy said "no". He said it was "too dark" and that she needed a more colorful outfit for her 1st birthday party. REALLY!?!?!?!?!?  When did he become Tim Gunn???  UGH!! So I told him I would be more than happy to look for more outfits as long as he paid. I haven't seen the money -- SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Tonight I have to make all 10 flower centerpieces.  Why was this a good idea again?  Well they better be super cute!

Everyone say a BIG prayer for me and hope that all goes well.  I am sure it will be but it will be lots of work. I feel sorry for my future children -- CHUCK E CHEESE IT IS! :)

T-Minus 4 days....

OMG Sofia's birthday party is THIS Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How the hell did it get here so fast??  I laid awake last night thinking about ALL the crap I still need to get.  Why did I decide to have this party again?  Oh wait, because it's her first...RIGHT!

I know the party will be a success but getting there is going to be a pain in my butt!  And we know how big that is.

I have the decorations, plates, etc.  I need to get the food and drinks sometime this week too. If only Leti drove. LOL!! I know, I'm so mean.

Anyway, there will most definitely be a blog post and possible a story in the Chronicle about how fantastic my Sofia's 1st birthday party was. :)  STAY TUNED!!!!

Isn't she precious???

Race for the Cure!

Saturday was the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  I will admit that the last time I did it was in 2004 which is the year my mommy became an angel. I should do it WAY more often because it is for a great cause!

This year I walked with my BFF Michele, Miss Melina, Mrs. Vanessa Skrabanek, Tina Cesta, Cassie and Sofia. :)  When I did it 6 years ago, it was well attended but not crazy.  Well in 2010, it was NUTS!  There was wall-to-wall people in the streets of downtown. LOOK!

But the fact that ALL of these people were there for the same reason is pretty freaking awesome.  Did you know that every 13 minutes, a woman dies of breast cancer?  That is HORRIBLE!!  We need to continue the fight to cure this horrible disease!!

Ok sorry for that depressing moment but the facts are the facts and I thought I would share.

Did I mention Sofia went too? This was her first walk and she did great.  Even though she didn't really walk, she just rode around in her stroller. :)  But she still did fantastic! She didn't even make a sound. She's such a good baby. And look how cute she looked! A girl has to have her shades! :)

Here I am with Michele....not the best picture of me, but it was freaking EARLY OK!?!?!

Next year I am going to do my best to start a team and have LOTS of people walk in my mommy's honor.  Maybe you will join me!!!
